What is MSA Testing?
Meridian Stress Assessment (formerly Omega Testing) or Sensitivity Testing is a non-invasive, safe, pain-free and highly developed method of determining imbalances in the body. Dr. Reinhard Voll, a German medical doctor, discovered and developed this concept on a much less technical scale in the early 1940s. The system we use at Ocean Heart Wellness Centre is the MSAS System - by International Health Technologies.
This technology is similar to the Polygraph, Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), and other technologies that measure electrical energy of the body. It is not used to diagnose or treat disease as defined by conventional medicine, however many doctors recommend it. MSA testing allows early detection of tendencies toward disease, toxicity and imbalances due to various types of stress before they become outwardly manifested.
The process involves measuring electrical conductivity by touching on acupuncture points (meridian points) on the fingers and toes using a handheld stylus. There is no pain involved at all. The most you will feel is slight pressure.
Acupuncture points are related to the body's organs and organ systems. Major groups of points are connected through channels or meridians beginning or ending on the hands and feet.
The results of testing are recorded and assessed by a sophisticated software program. Once imbalances are identified, the appropriate foods, supplements, and/or lifestyle changes are recommended to help you reach optimum health.
How is it useful?
MSA testing takes the guesswork out of what your body needs or doesn't like, and can tell you and your health practitioner more about the current state of your body's health. It can assess the effectiveness of supplements and treatment protocols you are currently taking. It provides you with immediate results in the form of a computerized printout of your test results along with supplement suggestions for correction of any imbalances.
What can you test for?
Most commonly, MSA testing is used to identify:

- Candida, mold and fungi
- Hormone imbalances
- Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
- Digestive problems
- Parasites, viruses, and bacteria
- Thyroid imbalance
- Heavy metals such as mercury, lead and aluminum
- Organ stress, and much more
